I have never done a travel blog before, but I thought this would be an easier way to keep track of what we do each day. It is faster to write and post pictures on a blog than to e-mail, attach pictures and send to different people. Right now this blog isn't very pretty and doesn't have many bells and whistles, but I will tweak it more after the trip. For now, have fun reading and seeing our adventures each day! :-)
Day 1
Today we began our day with Laura, Jason and Cam picking us up and taking us to the airport. She dropped us off around lunch time and we began our journey by heading to Washington D.C. first. We arrived safely and were able to catch lunch a Potbelly! If you haven't had it before, it is a very delicious sandwich shop that we don't have in FL. Phil finally got to try it and loved it. Our flight from D.C. was a little delayed, so we ended up leaving an hour later than we were supposed to. We made up the time in the air though, so it was no problem. We watched a lot of movies and read and DID NOT sleep much. We got around 1 hour of sleep each. We were very tired by the time we reached Brussels. We waited for LouAnn and Gary for about 2 hours in the airport and than took a taxi to the hotel together. We are staying at the Conrad! It is beautiful. We had to wait a while to get into our hotel room, so we decided to walk around the city and get a snack. After that, we took a long awaited nap for about an hour and showered to get ready for dinner.
Here are some pictures of our room.

We look pretty rough after the long plane ride!

We ate dinner at a restaurant called Le Delire Parisien. We had a traditional Brussels dinner consisting of mussels and crepes! It was amazing. We probably consumed 100 mussels between the 5 of us.

After that we took a nice long walk around the city again and mapped out our day for tomorrow! Here are some candid shots!
Tired and figuring out what to do tomorrow!

Who knows? 2 hours of sleep and this is what happens.
